Rehoming – Profile
History:
Cath came in from a multi cat household as her owner was struggling to look after all the cats.
Behaviour observations on site:
Cath is such a gentle little soul who seems to really crave human contact although she does come across as very shy and we don’t believe she had much human interaction in her previous home. It’s reported that Cath spent most time of her time outside and when she came indoors she would sit by the cat flap so she had a quick exit if she needed it.
Since being in our care she tends to spend her time in the back of a carrier but once she sees you’re there and she’s had a sniff of your hand she is happy to receive some gentle fuss and will actively come forward a little to initiate contact if you stop. With a few trusted handlers she will come out of her carrier and never wants you to stop stroking her, she has a gentle purr and often dribbles with contentment.
Cath hasn’t shown any interest in toys while in the cattery but she has spent some time in a foster home where she was seen quite often to play with toys.
Cath will need her own unused room to initially settle in as feeling safe and secure seems to be very important to her. Once settled Cath can explore the rest of the property and eventually a fully enclosed garden.
Cath needs to be the only pet in her new home and she was really unhappy living with cats previously. We feel a calm and quiet adult only home would be beneficial for her as she’s never encountered children before and will take time to settle.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.
Medical history:
Cath is overweight so would benefit from a weight loss diet once settled in her new home and when she is eating well. She has no known medical conditions.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
Additional information:
Cath cannot be homed in Portsmouth and her adoption fee is a minimum donation of £80.
