Rehoming – Profile

History:

Daphne was unfortunately recently returned to the shelter due to some behaviour traits her owners found difficult to manage.

Behaviour observations on site:

Daphne is a beautiful, affectionate girl who is now ready to find her forever home. Daphne is a big playful girl who can be a bit nervous at first but generally loves everyone. She is typical of her breed and doesn’t always know her size! She can be full-on at times, so requires some gentle guidance on how to act appropriately when playing.

Daphne loves to play with other dogs, and we feel she could live with another dog, pending successful dog meetings here at the shelter. She can be strong on lead when meeting other dogs, and tends to lay down when passing some. She does require a controlled introduction to dogs, so that she learns to act calmly around them as well.

Daphne generally walks very well on the lead and is a pleasure to work with as she is so focused on her handler and loves her food!

Daphne would benefit from an experienced dog owner, who is used to large, excitable dogs. Daphne can grab clothing at times if she is overstimulated/frustrated. So, a confident owner/s who can work through this, is a must.

Daphne will need a large enclosed garden.

Daphne is relaxed in a home environment and she is quite good at entertaining herself. Daphne travels well in the car and can be left for short periods at home alone. Daphne would thrive in a quieter home setting, where she will received the appropriate amount of both physical and mental stimulation.

Cannot be rehomed to Southampton or Gosport

Adoption fee: Minimum donation of £180

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Medical history:

Daphne will be spayed before going to her new home. She is fully vaccinated, flea, wormed and microchipped.
