Rehoming – Profile
Frankie was signed over in September as the owners could no longer keep him due to their circumstances.
Behaviour observations on site:
Frankie is a happy, friendly chap towards new people and thrives human company. He is very affectionate and loves company all day. Frankie has shown some signs of separation anxiety here at the shelter and in his previous home (barking, vocalising), so will need an understanding owner who is willing to help him through this.
He is generally good to be handled and tolerates vet visits, but treats can still be used to continue a positive association. Frankie is easily frustrated at times, being vocal and will chase his tail, so he will need a calm, quiet home environment so he can fully relax.
Frankie could potentially live with another calm dog, pending meetings here at the shelter, but can’t live with cats. He is disinterested with dogs when out and about, so another dog would need to be respectful of Frankie’s space.
Frankie is quite smart and engages well with short training sessions learning little tricks etc. He is a great sniffer, walks really well on lead and loves his walks, so would benefit from a semi- active home to go exploring with.
Frankie would make a lovely little adventure buddy and relax in the warmth when you’re home.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.
Medical history:
Frankie has had previous lumps removed, one being a mast cell tumour. More recently he has had another lump removed which has come back all clear, but he has been left with a significant scar on his back, which we think is a defining character feature.
Any lumps found on Frankie in the future will need to be removed.
Frankie is fully vaccinated, neutered, flea and wormed.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
