Rehoming – Profile
George was handed to the shelter because unfortunately his owner was no longer able to care for him. He has been in one loving home until now. He is looking for a retirement home!
Behaviour observations on site:
George is a friendly, jolly gentleman. He is adorable and makes us all laugh! He loves a little fuss but is not a lap dog. He is very active for his age and he likes to play and chase with a toy, loves a game of ball and enjoys a good walk. He will not need huge amounts of exercise everyday, he is happy to occupy himself and lazing in a comfy bed.
George is clean and will not toilet in his kennel, so he will likely be toilet trained but regular access to outside to start with until he settles in.
George may have been groomed a little heavy handedly in the past but has been doing great with his daily brushes at the centre and is much more comfortable. His new owners will need to take it slow and keep it positive. He tolerates the vet, when they take their time with him. George is a little deaf (we think) he can still hear his name if you say it loud enough and responds to high pitched noises! But care will need to be taken not to spook him as he won’t always be aware of someone approaching. For this reason George is looking for a home that is not too busy with lots of comings and goings.
George has such a great character and is a happy older chap who enjoys everyday. He really deserves his dream home to spend his retirement years!
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.
George is not currently on any medication and doesn’t have any medical conditions we are aware of. He will benefit from senior supplements and food to look after his joints and mobility as he gets older.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
