Rehoming – Profile
History:
Kipper was signed over at the beginning of 2022 as the previous owner had too many animals.

Behaviour observations on site:

Kipper is a nervous boy who has not been well socialised and it takes him a while to form a bond with new people. If pushed, Kipper may nip to show that he is uncomfortable. Kipper has lived a sheltered life before coming into us and therefore finds the world a little scary.

Kipper has shown some signs of separation anxiety here so new owners must be willing to potentially work through this behaviour problem in the home.

As Kipper is shy around new people, places like the vets can be daunting. It would benefit Kipper to build up a trusted bond with a vet individual before invasive handling is required. He tolerates being bathed and doesn’t mind being brushed.

Kipper has never lived with children or cats, and we feel at this time he is not ready to share his home with either just yet.

Kipper tends to stay away from unfamiliar dogs and makes space when passing them on walks. He is therefore best suited to being the only pet at home. Kipper may benefit from socialising with quieter calm dogs when out on a walk, once he has settled in.

Kipper is an affectionate boy with those he trusts and is full of personality and love. He is looking for a dedicated owner who can show him that the world isn’t all that scary.
