Rehoming – Profile
History:
Lionel came into our care as a stray with sores all over his body.
Behaviour observations on site:
Poor Lionel hasn’t had the best start in life, he was found temporarily living on someone’s balcony and was then bought into us as the finder was concerned his skin was getting sore and painful. When he first came into us he was initially isolated to his inside unit and outside pen as there were concerns that his sores could be ringworm, which is highly contagious. Hair plucks were sent off and grown, luckily when the results came back a few weeks later they confirmed he was negative! This meant we could ditch the additional PPE and he could be socialised as normal.
Lionel enjoys being around people and would often be straight on your lap for a cuddle, he would then settle down and would happily stay there for as long as you’d let him.
Being a previous stray, Lionel isn’t happy being confined in the cattery and is desperate to find a home of his own where he has more space. Due to the length of time he’s been with us, at times he has became frustrated in the environment which can present itself by mouthing the staff.
Due to the change in his behaviour we moved Lionel to a separate room where he has more space and is away from other cats. We went back to basics with him and were initially using a hands off approach, we have now started to introduce interacting with him. We are building this up over time and are ensuring we remain predictable in our approach.
Lionel is a very clever boy who enjoys puzzle feeders and plenty of stimulation to keep his brain ticking and to keep him out of trouble. He also enjoys rolling in catnip and playing with fishing rod toys.
Lionel isn’t keen on other cats so would be best suited as an only pet in his new home. He needs an experienced adult only home with a good routine to keep any stress factors to the minimum so he doesn’t feel the need to show his frustrations.
Lionel’s forever family will be provided with three months post adoption support from our behaviourist team.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the cat.

Lionel is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated.
