Rehoming – Profile

History:

Gizmo and Loki were signed over to us a few months ago due to their previous family struggling to cope.

Behaviour observations on site:

Gizmo and Loki are a really sweet pair of dogs who are now ready to look for their forever home together. Gizmo and Loki are both very friendly with people and love human company and cuddles. Gizmo (Yorkshire terrier) is calm and easy going and enjoys his walks and food. Gizmo is easy to walk and generally sociable around other dogs, but at times can be nervous. Loki (Maltese X) can be reactive on lead to other dogs but has done incredibly well with his training here at the shelter. Its important that their new adopters are confident and happy to continue Loki’s training so that he carries on improving.

They would initially benefit from being walked in quieter areas, and by two people, so that Loki can have individual focused training when out. Gizmo and Loki will make a family incredibly happy and we cant wait to see them settled in their forever home.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Medical history:

Both dogs have had dentals since being with us, so it is important that they maintain a good diet in order to help keep their teeth clean.

Gizmo will potentially need surgery in the future on one (or both) of his knee joints. This is not currently an issue for him but as he gets older may require surgery to repair this. There is also a risk of early onset arthritis with this issue (luxating patella) and adopters should be aware that this will now not be covered under insurance.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.

Cannot be rehomed to Waterlooville.

Adoption fee: Minimum donation of £315
