Rehoming – Profile

History:

Patty was brought into the shelter as a stray. This means we have little information on her previous life before coming to us.

Behaviour observations on site:

Patty is a sweet, energetic, young girl looking to find her forever home. Patty was found as a stray and unfortunately nobody claimed her. This means we have no information on how she previously behaved in a home, therefore, her new owners will have to be understanding and patient with her, whilst she settles in.

Patty enjoys a fuss from anyone but can be wriggly and unsure in a grooming and veterinary setting. She will need a gradual introduction to being brushed and groomed, as her coat will require regular grooming.

Patty seems well-socialised with other dogs and is always eager to meet them when out walking. We think she could live with another dog, pending successful meetings here at the shelter.

Patty would benefit from some basic training, such as walking nicely on the lead, how to sit and how to be left alone. She focusses well on her handler, and loves her food, making her a dream to train.

Patty will thrive in a home where she is given lots of time and attention and will make her new owner/s very happy.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Medical history:

Patty is currently on steroids for her skin, as it was very red and itchy when she arrived. This could be an on-going issue, so adopters should consider this. Patty is spayed, flea and wormed. She will need to start her vaccinations once she is off steroids.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
