Rehoming – Profile
History:
Unfortunately, we don’t have much information on Phil and crumpet, however they had lived together previously before coming into the Ark.
Behaviour observations on site:
Phil and Crumpet are two big pigs with even bigger personalities! Phil and Crumpet are different breeds of pig with a large age gap but that doesn’t stop them being friends. Phil is a lovable old spot who loves attention and knows exactly when its time for breakfast and dinner, he loves running over when he sees people and will come over for a chat and a back scratch. In the summer his favourite thing to do is to spend the day in his wallow living his best life. Crumpet is a Pot- belly old lady who loves a simple life. However, for an old girl she is quick to follow the food bucket and won’t miss a meal! She has a great nose and loves foraging through enrichment boxes to find treats.
Phil and crumpet are looking for their forever home in a large field where they can snuffle through the mud and a shelter to sleep in. They will need post and rail with stock fencing, and we advise anyone that is interested in them to research owning pigs or contact us for more information.
You will need a CPH number from DEFRA and there will be a minimum adoption fee of £100.00.
We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the pigs.
Medical history:
Both Phil and crumpet are fully vaccinated and wormed, and Phil is also castrated. Phil currently has no health issues but might require some sunscreen on his ears in the summer to stop them burning. Crumpet being an older pig can have some stiffness in her back legs in the very cold weather, this is currently being monitored.
Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
