Rehoming – Profile

History:

Sammy came into us with many other rats, unfortunately the owner was having to move and could no longer keep him. He is a single rat as he hasn’t got on well with others in the past.

Behaviour observations on site:

Sammy is a nervous boy who needs someone who will be patient with him and build up trust and a bond. He is a sweet boy who loves his fluffy blankets and his rabbit teddy. He is shy and doesn’t like being handled, however he likes to be around people in his cage and will come out and say hi and is always eager for a treat! Since being at the ark he has started to grow in confidence and is becoming more trusting of people every day.

If anyone is wanting to bond him with other rats, they must have experience with rat bonding.

He will need a large indoor cage with different levels and plenty of enrichment.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the Rat.

Adoption fee: £12 If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

Medical history:

When Sammy came into the ark, he was slightly thin and lethargic. He has had treatment for mites. He is currently at a healthy weight and has no current medical issues.
