Rehoming – Profile

History:

Unfortunately, we don’t have any history on Sammy, Dean and Joey before they came into our care as they were discovered abandoned in a property.

Behaviour observations on site:

Meet our Rat Pack – Sammy, Dean and Joey!

These classy old gents are looking for their retirement home. They are a very closely bonded group and love nothing more than a good snooze together in their hammock after a meal. They will always be tempted back out of bed though for a tasty treat of dry mealworms or Cheerios and will take them very gently from your fingers.

Joey or Sammy will be the first to approach and will, with a bit of encouragement, climb onto your hand and up your arm, while Dean is a little more shy than his brothers and will take a little longer to come over to say hello.

These boys will make a lovely addition to a family.

Sammy, Dean and Joey cannot be rehomed to a home with other rats. For more information on this, please discuss with a member of staff.

They will need a large indoor cage with different levels and plenty of enrichment.

Adoption fee: minimum donation of £30

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the rats.

Medical history:

As Sammy, Dean and Joey are elderly rats, we have not castrated them. All three boys have had a course of mite treatment since being in our care but Sammy and Dean still have a mild case of alopecia. Sammy and Joey’s teeth are mildly overlong and misaligned, but an appropriate diet should correct this.

Adopters should consider that previous medical conditions will now not be covered by insurance. Adopters are responsible for the on-going medical costs once the animal has been adopted.
