My Personality

Waffle is one of our “complex dogs”. He is a sensitive boy who has not had the best start to life. He lacks socialisation skills and can be fearful of new people and other dogs. Waffle initially found the outside world incredibly overstimulating, and found it difficult to focus on anything. He has since come a long way, especially when around meeting new people however this is a work in progress and new owners will need to be confident and prepared to continue the training in the home with the help from a behaviourist.

Waffle was unfortunately returned to the shelter after four months in the home, due to an incident where he was put into a situation which caused him to react. After this his owners found it difficult to manage his behaviour around strangers. Its therefore now extremely important that his new family understand this. We therefore feel his ideal home would be a working style in a rural location. He will also need a quiet home with limited visitors whilst he is settling in. Waffle bonds very closely with people and is great fun to be around however this bond can take a while to develop initially, all handling must be done on Waffles terms as he finds it all a bit scary!

He does however, love learning new things and is incredibly intelligent, he thrives when working with his handler and is a dream to work with. Waffle is going to make a fantastic companion for experienced owners who enjoy dog training.

We reserve the right to remove a reserve at any stage of the adoption process if we believe it is in the best interest of the dog.

Cannot be rehomed to Waterlooville or Bicester.

Adoption fee: Minimum donation of £180.
