Animal Care Assistant
Full Time – 40 Hours per Week
Are you passionate about animal welfare and looking for a rewarding, hands-on role? We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Animal Care Assistant to join our team at our busy animal rescue centre, which also operates a thriving commercial boarding facility.
This is a varied and active role where no two days are the same. You’ll be caring for rescue animals awaiting their forever homes, while also providing the highest standard of care for our boarding guests.
The Role
Daily care of dogs, cats, and small animals, including feeding, cleaning, exercising, and enrichment.
Monitoring animal health and behaviour, reporting any concerns promptly.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and biosecurity throughout the facility.
Assisting with admissions, rehoming activities, and customer interactions.
Providing excellent care and customer service for our commercial boarding clients.
Working as part of a supportive team in a fast-paced environment.
About You
A genuine passion for animal welfare and high standards of animal care.
Reliable, hardworking, and physically fit, with the ability to undertake a demanding role.
Calm, confident, and able to handle a variety of animals safely and compassionately.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexible and willing to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota.
Previous experience in animal care is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Working Pattern
Full-time, 40 hours per week, £12.71 a hour
Working on a 3-week rolling rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
